Sun Chasers by Nature, With a Built-in Solar Sensor

A significant portion of these reptiles' lives is spent basking in the warm sunlight. Like us, they know the sun moves across the sky during the day.

Over millions of years, within the order Squamata, several taxa have independently evolved a special light-sensitive organ called the parietal eye.

Research suggests this organ may have several roles in a reptile's daily life. Either acting like a solar compass, allowing them to orientate themselves in their surroundings. Or like an internal thermostat, telling them how much time they should spend warming up in the sun.

The Origin of an Idea

We Love Reptiles, But We’re Not Stuck in the Stone Age

Change isn’t scary, it’s how we evolve. Most reptile care guides will tell you to place a heat bulb on one side of your enclosure and your UVB bulb on the other. Boom. Hot and cool zones created. And hey, it works! But let’s be real… Nature doesn’t come with an instruction manual or two fixed light bulbs.

In the wild, the sun moves. Shadows shift. Heat comes and goes. Reptiles adapt and thrive in this dynamic environment. So why should their enclosures stay static?

At our core, we believe reptile care can be smarter, more natural, and way cooler. That’s why we built a system that brings a little more “outside” inside.

The Solution

Enter the Helios System, Because the Sun Doesn’t Just Sit There

This is where the Helios System shines (literally). Instead of a heat lamp that just hangs out in one spot all day, Helios simulates the sun’s natural journey across the sky, gliding from one side of the enclosure to the other over a full 12-hour day.

The result? A more dynamic, lifelike habitat where your reptiles actually move to chase the warmth, just like they do in the wild, scouting out the perfect basking spot. It’s not just more natural—it’s more fun to watch, too.
